Differenze chiave tra Past Simple e Past Continuous

Past Simple	Past Continuous
Descrive azioni completate nel passato.	Descrive azioni in corso nel passato.
Indica che cosa è successo.	Indica che cosa stava succedendo in un momento specifico.

Quando usare il Past Simple

Per azioni che sono accadute una sola volta e sono concluse:

Come combinare Past Simple e Past Continuous

Usiamo spesso il Past Continuous per descrivere ciò che stava accadendo sullo sfondo quando un’altra azione al Past Simple lo ha interrotto.

Past Continuous (azione in corso) + Past Simple (azione che interrompe):

Example: I was reading a book when my friend called.
