Questi esercizi si concentrano sui pronomi indefiniti

Ecco alcuni pronomi indefiniti comuni:

Everybody enjoyed the concert. (Refers to people)
Everything was perfect at the party. (Refers to things)

I pronomi indefiniti richiedono sempre un verbo al singolare:

Indefinite Pronoun	Correct Verb Form
Everybody loves chocolate.	(NOT Everybody love chocolate)
Something is wrong.	(NOT Something are wrong)

Quando si riprende un pronome indefinito, si usa un pronome plurale (they, them, their):

Sentence with Indefinite Pronoun	Referring Back with "They"
Somebody left their bag.	They must have forgotten it.
Everybody enjoyed the concert.	They stood up and clapped.

Esempio:
"I will tell somebody that dinner is ready. They have been waiting a long time."

Nelle frasi negative si usano le forme con no-, non le forme con any-.

Esempio:
"No one was at home." (NOT Anyone wasn’t at home.)

Si può aggiungere ’s a un pronome indefinito per indicare possesso:

Is this anybody’s phone?

They were staying at somebody’s house.

Usa else per parlare di altre persone o cose:

Sentence

All the family came, but no one else.

If Michael can't come, we'll ask somebody else.

This is somebody else's coat.

Incorrect	Correct	Reason
Everyone are here.	Everyone is here.	I pronomi indefiniti richiedono il verbo al singolare.
Nobody didn't come.	Nobody came.	In inglese non si usano doppie negazioni.
Someone forgot his bag.	Someone forgot their bag.	Si usa they/their per evitare riferimenti di genere.
