Wordle Combinations

This game belongs to the Wordle family of puzzles and together with Wordle Unlimited, Spelling Bee, Dordle and Squares form a perfect puzzle ecosystem for daily fun.

Combinations is a word puzzle game where you create words using the available letter blocks. The goal of Combinations is to find as many valid words as possible by combining the available letter blocks. Each letter in a correctly guessed word earns one point, so longer words help you increase your score faster. To win, discover enough words to reach the highest possible score and complete all the levels on the progress scale. 

How to play Combinations Game

Your task is to create words using blocks of letters in different word combinations. The game offers 2-block and 3-block words in the gaming set. You can use one block of letter only once per word.

Pay attention to small numbers in the top right corner of every block - they stand for the number of times these letters in the suggested combination are used in hidden words. 

• Create words. Select letter blocks to form valid English words. Proper nouns, such as names of people or places, and hyphenated words are not accepted. 

• Once you you assemble the word, hit Enter and the game will check the status of your answer:

Earn points. You receive 1 point for every letter in a correctly guessed word. For example, a five-letter word earns 5 points.

• Track your progress. The score scale at the top of the game field shows the maximum available score, your current score, your status, and how many more points you need to reach the next level.

• The drop-down menu above the playing area shows the words you've already guessed and the total number of possible words in the current game. Open it to review your progress and see how many words are still left to find.

Buttons Below the Letter Blocks

• Delete: Removes the letters you've entered. The pressed letter block is highlighted in light brown.

• Refresh: Rearranges the letter blocks into a different order, helping you spot new word combinations.

• Enter: Confirms and submits the word you've created. Press this button after selecting the letter blocks to check whether your word is valid and earn points.

Information and Hints

• Hints button: Located in the top-left corner. You have 4 hints per game. Press the button to highlight the letter blocks in green, one after another, showing the correct order to form a word. You can hit the hints button several times. A hint is only counted as used once you enter and submit the suggested word. 

Rankings and Score Progress

As you find valid words and earn points in Combinations, your ranking improves. There are five ranking levels based on the percentage of the maximum available score:

• Start (0%) – Your starting rank.

• Good (25%) – Reach 25% of the maximum score.

• Great (50%) – Earn half of the available points.

• Awesome (75%) – Collect 75% of the maximum score.

• Genius (100%) – Earn all available points and reach the highest rank.

The ranking names and percentages are the same in every game, but the number of points needed to reach each rank varies depending on the total number of letters in the word set. You can track your current rank and progress toward the next one on the score scale at the top of the game screen.

Tips for Finding More Words

Start with shorter words and look for ways to combine the remaining letters into longer ones. Use the Refresh button when you have trouble spotting new combinations, and keep an eye on the score scale to see how close you are to the next level.
